Stressful situations often arise in dental offices. Some are caused by difficult patients while others are due to interpersonal conflicts within the team. Everyone in the office needs the verbal and people skills to defuse conflicts, maintain harmony, and reduce stress. This course teaches specific, time-tested strategies for providing excellent customer service by creating common ground with patients and coworkers, empathizing with their needs, and using just the right words to avoid conflict. Whether the issue arises on the phone or in the treatment room, the entire dental team needs to be prepared to rise to the occasion, explain policies, treatment options, and fees, and create long-term trusting relationships with patients and a positive work environment.

Prior to starting his own company, Dr. Schwab served as Director of Marketing for the American Dental Association and as Executive Director of the American College of Prosthodontists. He has also worked with numerous dental schools, major corporations, and private dental practices.
He runs a marketing consulting firm, David Schwab & Associates, Inc. The company provides in-office seminars, online training and consulting, and other practice management services for fee-for-service dentists.
He is the author of The Dental Communication Advantage: Proven Scripts and Strategies to Train Your Team and Grow Your Practice available on Amazon. His practice management articles have also appeared in numerous publications, including Dental Economics.
Dr. Schwab holds a Ph.D. in English from Northwestern University. A native of New Orleans, he lives in the Orlando, Florida area.
