Dr. Neel Bhattacharyya obtained oral and maxillofacial pathology training from the Indiana University School of Dentistry, Indianapolis. He received his DDS from the University of Nebraska College of Dentistry. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology. He is currently, a tenured full Professor and the Director of Oral Pathology at the UF College of Dentistry. He has been at UF for over 23 years and has won numerous teaching awards throughout his career. He is actively involved in one of the nation’s largest oral pathology biopsy services that accessions over 17,000 tissue specimens annually. He has authored or co-authored more than 200 refereed papers and book chapters covering a diverse range of topics addressing both clinical and microscopic aspects of oral pathology and biology. He is also actively involved in research. He has lectured extensively in the US at various regional, national and international meetings.
